I love my iphone. Really, I do. It’s handy, the internet is fast and it basically organizes the chaos in my life. And this is one more reason why…

There’s an app out there for iphone, ipod and itunes users that can help improve your sex life through Yoga Sex Positions. Now, the application is not new to the world (it came out in August, 2010) but it’s certainly new to me, and hopefully to some of you too. While google searching: yoga, sex, orgasm and combinations of the like, I stumbled upon this gem.  No, I wasn’t trying to find some secret to incredible sex. I was, rather, trying to find some peer reviewed studies on the subject. Strictly research.

Which, by the way, is just what this application notes to be for: educational purposes.

Description (taken straight from apple)

Yoga gives you stronger contractions and releases, which can help you experience a more intense orgasm. Yoga believes that for a healthy sexual life, it is very important for a person to get relieved of all his stress.

Tantra is an ancient Hindu yoga ritual of having sexual relations in order to reach ultimate orgasm. Orgasms achieved through Tantric sex involve the entire body, not just the genital area, and can be a very spiritual experience. The absolute goal of Tantra is to hold back the orgasm until it becomes an earth-shattering event that resounds through the entire body.

Do not be discouraged if you do not achieve Tantra the first few times you attempt the ritual. Like all yoga asanas, Tantra takes practice.

The app (not free, but only $0.99) gives apple users some helpful suggestions for yoga poses that may help heighten sexual experience (downward-facing dog, shoulder stand, etc.) and features some yoga techniques for a better sex life.

There are plenty of articles, including those in Womens Health, Men’s Health and Psychology Today, that can back up the facts behind the benefits of doing yoga to improve your sex life. But, as with most apple applications, this application is simple, convenient and readily available.

If you’re interested (which I think it’s hard not be be) this may be the app for you.
