I couldn’t watch all 43 seconds without crying. {Video}

Hundreds of endangered whales are being killed.

You can help. But first, I hope you’ll watch Pierce Brosnan’s powerful video. It’s just 43 seconds.

NRDC’s letter to President Obama:

I respectfully urge you to impose strong sanctions on Iceland for its illegal practice of commercial whaling.

I applaud the Commerce Secretary’s recent declaration that Iceland is defying the international ban on whaling and his certification of that nation under the Pelly Amendment. However, Iceland has proven time and again that it will turn a deaf ear to international criticism that is not backed up by action. Indeed, it has responded to past diplomatic efforts by increasing its illegal slaughter of whales.

The time has come for the United States to assert leadership on this critical issue by making Iceland pay a real price for its commercial whaling program. Please take strong measures against Iceland, including the imposition of economic and/or trade sanctions against those Icelandic seafood companies with direct ties to the whaling industry.

Millions of Americans are united in total opposition to whaling. When you ran for President you vowed to ‘strengthen the international ban on commercial whaling.’ I am counting on you to uphold that promise now. Please lead the world on behalf of whale survival by imposing sanctions on Iceland. Thank you.

    Why is it okay to kil and eat blue fin tuna but not whales? Obviously signed but there is still way more work to be done.

    Wow! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appearance.
