Thursday, September 15: Sweetgrass Productions Presents the world premiere of Solitaire.

On September 15th, 2011, Denver’s Gothic Theatre will play host to the world premiere of Solitaire, the latest backcountry skiing and snowboarding film from Sweetgrass Productions. After 2 years in Argentina, Chile, Peru and Bolivia, the Colorado-based documentary team is back home to share the evidence of their adventuring.

Compiled with signature Sweetgrass elegance and intensity, this film seems to focus on the land, its people and their stories, as much as it does on uncharted lines and blissful or blistering cliff drops. But hey, I’m as excited to find out as you ought to be!

Click Here to read Director/Producer Nick Waggoner’s interview with Powder Magazine, in which he comments on the “tragedy… grit and the glory” involved in the making of such a film.

See below for the teaser and trailer.

Tickets

For the main event are about $15 if you order online. The movie will be followed by live music, and the after-party is at Moe’s BBQ.

Bonus: Desert River

See you there!
