“A 24 year old father dies of a toothache… because…”

Via on Sep 3, 2011

^Ah, the good ol’days.

~

Kyle Willis, a 24-year-old unemployed father of one from Cincinnati, passed away last week from an easily treatable tooth infection because he didn’t have health insurance and couldn’t afford a simple tooth extraction.

With thanks for the sad, tragic, horrible tip to Reddit:

“A 24-year-old father dies of a tooth ache…because he didn’t have insurance. The uninsured in America are 40% more likely to die compared with their insured counterparts.”

Wait, why are people who don't have insurance not bartering services and/or taking emergency trips when necessary? You wont have debt when you're dead!

Like roads, conservation areas etc some things should be government run and not at the mercy of business bottom lines where people are denied essential care based on poverty, 'pre-existing' conditions etc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jng4TnKqy6A
