December 10 – reverb11 – Ananda (Joy)

A positive frame of mind is a habit. How have you silenced the propaganda factory of negativity with positive thought and behavior in your life in 2011? How has this changed your day-to-day being?

Reverb is a month-long endeavor in reflecting on the past year and envisioning the year to come. Find out more about Reverb11. Check out the daily prompts and feel free to write publicly on this blog or privately in your diary, as much or as little as you want, as often or seldom as you are compelled to.

Thanks to Heidi Johnson for offering today’s prompt.

By nature I'm an optimist. But when negativity rears its head I find the best thing is to get moving. Playing some fierce rock or jazz or kirtan that I can shake my body to will give negativity the boot. Or I drive down to the beach and inhale the ocean air. Filling every cell in my body with that energy recharges me completely. The best preventive for negativity is doing at least a few yoga postures every day (if I'm not taking regular classes) and meditation.
