Listen: Bay Area’s KSRO “The Drive” interviews Waylon Lewis re: John Mackey, Whole Foods & “ObamaCare.”

Via on Feb 27, 2012

A few years back, Waylon Lewis was featured a few times on the front page of the Huffington Post, where he used to write. He helped break various stories re Whole Foods, and got a ton of mainstream press (NY Times, Atlantic…) when he went against we liberal masses, standing his Whole Foods lovin’ ground and explained why he wouldn’t be joining the growing call for a boycott of Whole Foods…after a news story broke that right-of-the-right Whole Foods CEO John Mackey was not only against affordable healthcare coverage for the masses, but was righter than right, politically-speaking.

Just last week, radio show KSRO The Drive’s Steve Jaxon found himself in the midst of controversy about Whole Foods’ John Mackey and his take on equal rights and Prop 8. He needed back up from an expert. They put out the Waylon Lewis signal (not nearly as cool as the Bat Signal), and called our resident expert up for a chat and update.

  1. I will no longer be shopping at Whole Foods. Mr. Mackey is out of touch with the great suffering heaped upon the American public at the hands of our for-profit insurance industry. In a true free market, we the consumers, can walk completely out of a market with our dollars. We cannot do that with health insurance no matter how much competition there is among the companies. I appreciate that Mr. Mackey is so vocal about his views. And now my actions will express mine. I will not spend another dollar in Whole Foods. Thank you for this interview.

You bet! Conscious consumerism! I still hold that Whole Foods is an extraordinary force for good, overall.

I have been having this problem since two days before when I tampered with the ‘permissions’ in the settings. I had been using this EngineYard cloud and knew some cloud computing companies for a long time and I have never had this problem before. Now it is generating me backups of zero length and that bugs me. It is literally wasting a lot of time from my working hours. Now, from this post, I guess that problem arose because I tampered with the ‘permissions’ two days before.

I understand what you’r saying. After all true audiophiles know that MP3s have actually taken the technology in a backward step. CD audio is still higher quality, and although there are some lossless options (like FLAC), not many companies support them.Tavis J. Hampton recently posted..Browser Wars, My Own Observations
