My Sexy is not Wearing Miniskirts in Winter trying to Impress Someone.

Sexy isn’t desperation. Sexy is empowered. Sexy is mystery. It isn’t quantum physics.

Sexy is (green).

  2. Andrea Balt Andréa Balt says:

I like miniskirts all year long but to make them more mysterious, I wear leggings. :)

  3. YOGA BEAR says:

Wow, something went right with this girl! I have to like what her future brings her-take note lindsey lohan!

  4. Sara says:

Even though quantum physics is super sexy.

  5. naked feminist says:

As a feminist, I was pretty offended by this quote. What if I like wearing short skirts, not because I want men to notice me, but because I find them personally sexy? Not all women who wear short skirts are "desperate" or are even seeking attention at all. It's fine if she doesn't find mini-skirts sexy, but I don't think it's her place to assume that she knows why other people dress the way they do. I am also disappointed that elephantjournal is promoting that kind of judgmental attitude. As Amy Poehler said on this week's episode of SNL, "DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!"

    • Rebecca says:

Except she ISN'T telling you what to do! She's doing what SHE feels comfortable doing and sharing HER opinions on mini-skirts. Isn't that the point of feminism…to be able to speak your mind and voice your own opinions? Not judgmental at all, unless of course, she hit a nerve?!

      • L Squared. says:

Thank you Rebecca! It isn't about feminism, or wearing short skirts because you find them appealing. She is trying to say, don't change who YOU are, don't sell out and do something just because someone wants you too. Be yourself, and be proud of it!

    • Donna says:

I am a feminist as well and all I have to say to you is. "Oh, please…" Don't fricking read this then…

    • Tad says:

naked feminist – as stated in other posts, you are the one who is getting your panties in a bundle here – she did not, in any way, say anything about anything except what she thinks and wants. check yourself because you're a bit off balance

  6. Anasthasia says:

I love this. I can totally relate to this!

  7. CPU64 says:

Why does life have to be so cruel?
Emma is an amazing girl, everything I've dreamed a girl would be. She's beautiful, smart, and most importantly, she's not a slut. Its so hard to find a beautiful girl who values herself enough to not sleep around. And who doesn't think sexy=skanky.
But most likely I would never get the chance to even say hi to her, and let her know how much I admire her as a wonderful human being. <3 Her.

  8. Love this…a whisper of sexy is so much nicer than a shout. The obvious, over-the-top stuff is kind of boring white-noise after awhile. I'd rather have my sexy be the little things that are unique about how I'm put together than trying to be a glossy imitation of someone else.

  9. [...] It’s not being flashy or showing off—it’s being yourself. [...]

  10. Jade says:

Absolutely love Emma's kinda sexy! It is just the way I like it… and yes SEXY does not always mean SHORT SKIRTS! Sexy can even be the choices of words you use. I find Emma totally sexy and if I was a guy I would totally go for her!

  11. [...] about female role models these days, especially with such a media focus on Hollywood. But I see Emma Watson, Miley Cyrus, Tina Fey and Anne Hathaway…and I worry a little bit [...]

  12. Ella says:

If this hits anyone's nerve, before ranting, please sit down quietly somewhere and THINK ABOUT why your nerve was hit, instead of spouting out your insecurites on our heads. Emma is allowed to say anything she wants, just as everyone else is. 'YOU' (whoever you are) are also allowed to say anything you want, as long as it doesn't detract from anyone else's freedom … because that is one right 'you' do not have, whether or not you are naked, and completely irregardless of how much (or less!) of a feminist or whatever you are.

  13. Chuck says:

There are lots of sexy photos of Emma Watson. Perhaps she was uncomfortable when she posed for them. Or maybe she said these things a long time ago. But in the entertainment world, looking sexy means you make a lot more money.

  14. Sharon Tadmor says:

I used to share her idea of sexy when I was in my 20s, now I've changed to the other extreme… well… almost.
All in all, there is no one idea versus another, it's all about how you feel a certain day or even moments, no one should confine themselves to a specific style/habit of how they radiate sexiness off of them, it happens naturally when the universe decides you appeal to someone/as many admirers as could possibly be.

  15. Briget says:

    She's a Class Act, imop.

  16. sam says:

I really agree with what she is saying. It's just I've seen so many pictures of her with tiny bits of fabric or nothing at all. Recently some sent me (Huge HP fan) an almost pornographic picture of her. I think she was modeling for a clothes brand.
