    What's the difference between:

    blood can't heal

    and

    and he said unto them
    this is my blood
    of the new covenant
    which is shed for many
    [...]
except you eat the flesh of the son of man
    and drink his blood
ye have no life in you
    [...]
    you are sanctified in christ
    by the grace of god
through the shedding of the blood of christ
which is in the covenant of the father
unto the remission of your sins
    that you become holy
    without spot

    Etc.
    ?

    What's the recipe for healing?

I think that idea of erasing is a good one. Agape keepeth no record of past wrongdoings [1 Cor. 13:5].

Also — the best gifts of the Holy Spirit include the gift of faith to heal and the gift of faith to be healed — so perhaps She needs to be a part of the recipe too…

Justin~ I should have known that you would bring up Jesus…:) About jesus shedding his blood, I think that's totally different,. I've spent my whole life concentrating on jesus's death and his blood. Jesus died for me. That realization changes a person–…So, I hope I don't die. I hope I LIVE. But telling a person in a moment of loss when they are hurting that Jesus died so they should feel better is not going to do it. That's just not the way nature works. I mean "Blood can't heal" in the way that you can't heal until you stop bleeding: scab, then that flakes away to reveal new flesh.

One problem of non-healing in our world is because people voluntarily go back to the things that cause them pain. That was why I used that bleeding hand shot with my daughter running by without her clothes on. (It was not planned for her to do that. She's 2, she's still stripping off her clothes every time I turn around). I hope not to offend– but somethings are like that, leave us naked, feeling defenseless, vulnerable..and we go back and keep doing them! It's a terrible cycle, one that can trap people, families for generations. So the type of healing I'm talking about here is one that is caused by a type of emotional hurt that can be avoided: addiction, war.

I like that you mentioned that about Agape and 'erasing'. I love it.

  3. Justin says:

Ahh — so the difference is between trying to heal with my own blood, continually re-opening my wounds like the prophets of Baal, who

    cried aloud
    and cut themselves
after their manner with knives and lancets
till the blood gushed out upon them

or healing passively by allowing the blood of Christ to work in me.

You said about Noa — that,

she's still stripping off her clothes every time I turn around

    The gospel of Thomas reads:

    Jesus' disciples said to him
when will you be visible to us
and when shall we see you?

    he said
when you strip naked without being ashamed
and take your garments and put them under your feet
    like little children
    and tread upon them
then you will see the child of the Living
and you will not be afraid

    And Mormon said:

listen to the words of christ
    your redeemer
    your lord and your god
    behold
I came into the world not to call the righteous
    but sinners to repentance
    the whole need no physician
    but they that are sick
    wherefore
    little children are whole
for they are not capable of committing sin
    wherefore
the curse of Adam is taken from them
    in me
that it hath no power over them
and the law of circumcision is done away
    in me
