I am Thankful that I don't already have everything I desire.
Because if I did, what would there be to look forward to?

I am Thankful that I don't know everything,
for it gives me the opportunity to learn.

    fficult times,
because during those times I grow.

I am Thankful for my limitations,
because they give me the opportunities for improvement.

I am Thankful for each new challenge
because it will build my strength and character.

I am Thankful for my mistakes.
because they will teach me valuable lessons.

I am Thankful when I am tired and weary,

I'm thinkful for the next breath, the second chance, the broken heart which still beats in me in spite of what I believe. I'm thankful for people to love, for people who love me, for my daughter and our wee Muttley! I'm thankful for smelly horses who patiently allow me to sob into their manes, for snowy days that force me to stay indoors and drink wine while I read poetry which makes me cry again! I am grateful for opportunities to learn lessons, the hard lessons especially, because as Pema Chodron says, "Only to the extent that we expose ourselves to annihilation can that which is indestructible in us be found."

I am grateful for my yoga practice which has turned from a mission to obtain a 40 year old yoga butt to a 50 year old spiritual quest…the butt is still pretty nice!

    And the list is growing!

I am grateful for the opportunity to be studying my dream degree, vet, under some very inspirational lecturers, and my gorgeous cat for keeping me company while I do so late into the night :)

Good friends, amazing teachers, this beautiful earth and the freedom to roam around on her. The awareness this morning that it IS possible to find joy and laughter even in the midst of struggle, and the humility that allows me to see how much of that struggle I am creating myself (um, 110%). I am grateful also for delicious food on my table, healing plants, art, spirit, and love. I am also thankful right at this moment for my darjeeling soy latte, which is delicious and cozy on this chilly morning.

It fills me with gratitude to know that consciousness is a river.
