Wow.

Eloquent, clear…Vice President Joe Biden comes out in favor of absolute marriage equality.
“I am absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women and heterosexual men marrying women are entitled to the same exact rights…
…Who do you love? Who do you love and will you be loyal to the person you love? And that’s what people are finding out what all marriages at their root are about. Whether they are marriages of lesbians or gay men or heterosexuals.”
The social culture is changing, too-slowly yet very-quickly, thanks in great part—as VP Biden points out—to silly shows like Will & Grace.
“People fear that which is different.”
Biden is the highest ranking official to endorse marriage equality.

More evidence that Joe plans to run in 2016.
I kept thinking, where have I heard someone say "Who do you love?" Then I realized, he's riffing on George Thoroughgood!
He probably had that mean slide guitar riff in his head all morning.

Joe Biden is probably one of the most incompetent, bumbling, non mindful "leaders" I have seen in my life. He reminds me of a used car salesman on a good day.
When you think of great statesman of the past, their intellect, integrity, letters, and then you look at this clown its comical and also gives insight to the deterioration of America as a global leader.
What he said was fine, I totally agree, that a government has no right whatsoever to tell who can marry who. The fact that we even debate something like this shows how unaware our country is.
We should be talking about far more important and existential matters. Not sure why this is "wow" More like "duh"
George W. Bush leads the race as far as being "one of the most incompetent, bumbling, non mindful "leaders" I have seen in my life"…for me at least.
I really have to disagree, actually. Biden is the salt of the earth, and while I love to poke fun at old Joe — and it is so easy to! — I think this is an unusually personal and unadorned perspective, and his views do not conform with Obama's narrower official line on civil unions. He's really not speaking as a politician here, but in common sense terms, in emotional terms, and he's less concerned about what the "official" reception is.
Biden is the gaffe-meister, no question, but in truth he's turned out to be a huge, huge asset to Obama. I'm a journalist and I can tell you, that by 2008, Biden was a media laughingstock in Washington, DC. He would button -hole reporters just to get them to interview him, and then he would go on and on. He was widely considered daft.
And then Obama plucked him from political obsolescence and gave him this VP slot, and he has really come into his own. He's living proof that a guy who is considered "old and in the way" still has his best years ahead of him – if he's treated with respect. And my hats off to Obama for choosing him, even if the motivation he had was somewhat racist and self-serving, in fact – to have an ineffectual old party "graybeard" around to reassure remaining skeptics that he wasn't going to sell America out to Muslims and to Rev. Jeremiah White, and that while he might not have enough "experience" for the job, at least his number 2 did.
Anyway, it worked! And I also think the record is clear. Were it not for Biden and his national security team, we would have over-escalated in Afghanistan. Obama would have caved to the generals, much more than he did, and we'd be in a much bigger fix. Biden was the only one in Obama's inner circle with the credibility to stand up to those guys and say, forget it, and Obama actually got so tired of being embarrassed by Biden on this that he had to upbraid him – but he listened, and it gave Obama leverage.
Sorry to go on so long. Biden's not perfect – who is – but I think he's turned out to be the perfect man for the job overall, and I do think that statements like these suggest that he is, indeed, running in 2016. Poor Hillary! She may get goosed again.
It’s hard to find knowledgeable people on this topic, but you sound like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks
