Introducing #askyama for elephant journal.

We started YAMA Talent because we had to.

The yoga industry began to rapidly change and teachers were asking us questions about how to best run their businesses. We had (some of the) answers and we also had questions of our own. We started probing into everything about the yoga business and asking why it operated as such?

When we identified systems and processes that were not sustainable, we created alternate solutions and then we educated and empowered our clients. We committed to providing business infrastructure and savvy to make yoga sustainable and prepared for growth. We believe in a world where everyone has yoga and mindfulness practices in his or her toolboxes. And, we are going to do everything we possibly can to make that world a reality.

In those quick four years we’ve been involved with or privy to almost every kind of business situation imaginable for a yoga teacher or yoga studio owner in this newly forming yoga industry—working with “start-ups and top established brands,” ‘rookie teachers and rock stars” alike. We still haven’t figured it all out yet, but we do know that what we do know—is helpful. We’ve witnessed outrageous success with our clients—from the new water cooler in the studio, to finally having time for your personal practice again, to landing a TV show (Yes, they’re all the same to us!).  It’s incredibly fulfilling to see our clients achieve their goals.

We’d like to keep asking, answering, educating and empowering as many yogis as possible in an effort to see more goals reached and more yoga shared. That is why #askyama was created.

Please send us your questions about the business of teaching yoga or studio ownership—and we will answer.
