Is Porn a Good Thing? ~ Submissions Call.

Via on Oct 14, 2012

The editors at elephant journal Love and Relationships and The Good Men Project are partnering in a submissions call on the theme of Men and Pornography.

With best-selling books like “mommy porn” Fifty Shades of Grey and the advent of easy-access online porn, do we need to rethink the role of pornography in our sex lives? Is porn always smut for the sex-addicted and desperate? Or did porn save your marriage? Why have you quit using porn? Does feminist porn exist, and do you think it’s hot? And has Fifty Shades spiced up your humdrum sex routine?

Send your insightful submissions to: eleluveditor@gmail.com by Saturday, October 20 for consideration.

Length. 2000 word maximum. Selected articles will be posted on both elephant journal and The Good Men Project the first week of November.

Looking forward to hearing from both men and women writers on this important topic.

  1. Edward Staskus says:

Pornography is designed to create and falsely satisfy excessive desire for such things as sex, money, and power. It manufactures desire and then pretends to satisfy it. How does this have anything to do with the yoga project? Oh, I forgot, it's yoga in the USA!

  2. Joe Sparks says:

Expose the pornography "industry" and other " sex industries" as totally harmful to men and women. Eliminate pornography and other uses of sex to manipulate men's emotions on the basis that they are destructive to both men's and women's lives. Assist the men and women who are victims of the sex industries to recognize the destructive nature of these industries.Create the conditions necessary for the men and women who are victims of sex industries to tell the real stories of their lives. Establish support groups for men addicted to pornography and provide counseling resource to assist men to break free of these addictions and reclaim full lives. Expose the motives of greed and profiteering that fuel the sex industries.

  3. Nils Montan says:

God people, get a life. More people probably watch pornography in the world today than do any single thing except eat and breathe. The "sex industry" is all about greed and and profiteering? I've got news for you, EVERY industry, more or less, is about greed and profiteering. Get over it.

  4. Edward Staskus says:

Oh, thanks for the explanation. I will get right on that porno thing, like everybody else you say is on it, and get right on that greed and profiteering thing, like everybody else. That makes me feel much better. Now I can get a life!
