The Orgasmic Life: What is Orgasmic Meditation? Watch & Learn. {Video/NSFW} ~ Candice Holdorf

I get a lot of questions about the sexuality practice that I teach, Orgasmic Meditation (OM).

When I describe to people the elegant simplicity of it (one person stroking the genitals of another with precise attention for 15 minutes), I’m often greeted with blank, dubious or freaked out stares.

Even when I try to explain the focus on building intimacy through conscious touch, increasing one’s ability to feel pleasure and gaining the tools to express desire, it still doesn’t quite land.

Eventually I just give in to the truth of the matter and confess, “It’s something you have to experience to fully understand.”

Think about describing Hatha yoga or Vipassana. You’d sound kind of kooky trying to convince someone that making your body into a variety of shapes or sitting and doing nothing is going to deepen your awareness of life.

But once you hit the mat or settle onto the zafu and get a taste of what’s possible on the other side, you keep coming back. Even when you don’t want to and you fight the practice because you are scared or angry or your body is achy or you just suck at it or it’s cold outside or your dog just died or whatever, you still cannot escape the power of the practice.

And OM is a practice that has enriched my life immeasurably. I went from a frightened, anorexic “good girl” who used relationship as a means of escape to a woman who has acknowledged her hunger as her power and fosters a relationship that challenges her to grow.

So I was overjoyed to see OM featured on the new YouTube Chopra Well Channel show, 30 Days of Intent. The show follows YouTube star, Iman Crosson, and professional athlete and entrepreneur, Natalie Spilger, on “a journey of intent and self-discovery. Led by Deepak Chopra, Natalie and Iman spend weeks visiting experts in the health and wellness fields.”

In this episode, the pair work with the founder of the organization where I did my training, Nicole Daedone, and watch a live demonstration of OM. Towards the end, Natalie describes her experience as “one of the most beautiful expressions of humanity I think I’ve ever seen.”

Though watching isn’t quite the same as stroking, it comes pretty darn close. See (and feel) for yourself.
