Is there anyone who doesn’t like cinnamon?!
Sometimes I’ll put a few cinnamon sticks and some orange peel on the stove to simmer just to make the whole house smell cinnamony. Besides being delicious, the addition of cinnamon (as well as other spices) to your diet can be a huge health boost as well:
A few ways to add more cinnamon to your meals:
>>Add to your oatmeal or hot cereal
>>Put a dash in your coffee
>>Sprinkle on root vegetables before roasting (love cinnamon, black pepper and sea salt on my sweet potatoes!).
>>Add to smoothies, especially ones made with sweeter fruits to help balance their glycemic impact.
And my favorite:
End-of-the-World Mayan Hot Cacao:
Serves 2
2 tbsp. raw cacao
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
a dash (or more if you are brave) of cayenne pepper
1 tbsp. raw honey
2 cups hot water
milk of choice to taste (great with coconut milk)
Stir it all up and enjoy!

Thanks for the reminder. I used to put it in my oatmeal everyday, in hot drinks and stews. I've lost this habit somehow…
It's back on the menu now!
Yum yum! I use cinnamon every day. My son loads it on his oatmeal. My husband hates cinnamon. His loss!

I don't need an excuse to eat cinnamon, I love it. The Mayan Hot Cacao sounds fabulous- apparently it's going to be a wintry weekend so it will be perfect to warm me from the inside out
I'm diabetic, I put cinnamon in my breakfast and other foods. I absolutely don't feel better all day. Maybe it helps me in ways I'm not aware of, but please don't make blanket statements, like the title of this article.
I'm diabetic too. I have had to quit wishing to ever feel like I did before I was diabetic.
(Diabetic for 18 years and on insulin for the last 12. No oral medication…no islet cells.)
