How Far Does your Food Travel to Get to You? {Video}

If you don’t live in Florida, you might want to re-think that daily orange juice.

 

According to the NRDC, most produce in the U.S. travels an average of 1,500 miles to get to your table.

I live in Connecticut. We will never have “local pineapple,” and I love to enjoy fresh pineapple from time to time. But whenever possible—I buy local. For your local economy, for your local farmers and for your health, choose locally grown produce whenever possible.
