I was stewing this morning about how many people are willing to be unkind, or think the worst of strangers, especially in our speedy-speedy road rage, constant texting and Facebook update society.
But if you stop and truly look around, that’s the minority. We notice it because it irritates us, like a pebble in our shoe.
This photo of police officer Lawrence DePrimo who stopped mid-shift to buy a new pair of boots for this homeless man brought tears to my eyes. It’s a beautiful gesture, and there’s a reason people keep sharing this photo. That desire to benefit others, to connect, to show love is in all of us. It’s why we’re here.
Take two minutes and smile and cry and then give a little love.
