I generally love talking about green in everyday life as an expression of mindfulness, not uptightness–how to talk about it with loved ones and family, colleagues.

~ Waylon Lewis, elephant journal founder

This Thursday, January 31st, Waylon will be talking green L-I-V-E with Megan McWilliams—a radio show you won’t want to miss.

Side note: I was beyond thrilled that I was finally able to connect these two and align their busy schedules—not an easy task, I might add—for the show!

I asked Megan why she was interested in chatting with Waylon. Here’s what she had to say:

I want to tap into the mind of the man who created elephant, which I find to be an extremely refreshing way to convey great information on a conscious lifestyle.

I’ve admired Waylon for a while. I’m a recovering magazine publisher—I published the first sustainable living magazine in the NY metro area, Relevant Times from 2006 to 2008. Waylon made that transition from print to digital look so easy.

He’s obviously an innovative force and I love reading his thoughtful articles and social media posts. I’ve always enjoyed the edgy sense of humor and lack of boundaries of elephant journal, which I suspect is an extension of Waylon’s personality.

We have a lot in common and although we’ve corresponded a couple of times over the last few years, I don’t think we’ve ever spoken, so this should be a fun interview. We both seem to have a similar philosophy in keeping a sense of humor in the face of serious challenges—not taking things too lightly, but bringing a real-world approach to making thoughtful information accessible.

I want to tap into the mind of the man who created elephant, which I find to be an extremely refreshing way to convey great information on a conscious lifestyle. I’m hoping more people will learn about elephant. I’m always surprised how many people don’t know about elephant still. They don’t know what they are missing . . .

The show will be broadcast live via www.homegrownradionj.org from 4-5 p.m. Eastern Time and Waylon’s interview will run from 4:40 – 4:55 p.m.
