When Pleasure is the Goal. ~ Devi Ward {Adult}

When it comes to sex and orgasm it is always good to remember that orgasm isn’t the goal. Pleasure is the goal, and orgasm is the body’s natural response to pleasure.

That being said, I really enjoy talking about (and experiencing) the 11 different orgasms for women.

This can be a touchy subject for some folks, what with the female orgasm being thought of as so “elusive,” and studies that suggest as many as 40-70 percent of women are incapable of having any orgasm at all. Some may think it erroneous and irreverent of me to be sharing 11 more ways in which women can feel inadequate about their current sexual experience.

I guess that’s one way of looking at it. For me though, when I began to awaken to my full sexual pleasure potential I was amazed at what my body was capable of. I was also pissed off that nobody had told me what was possible and, more importantly, how to get there.

cherryWhen I began tasting the pleasure that was possible, I looked back over my lifetime of sexual experiences, and realized that they always left me unsatisfied and hungry for more.

Rarely did they ever last long enough for me to even actually reach orgasm, not to mention that the only kind of orgasm I was familiar with at that time was clitoral. I just figured it was a lost cause to be hoping for some sort of sexual satisfaction that wasn’t linked directly to a tongue, a finger or a vibrator.

Then I got tuned in and turned on to this little thing called Authentic Tantra and began to study my sexual pleasure in earnest. I began to experience peaks and plateaus of pleasure that I had never even thought possible, because with sex especially “what you don’t know, is what’s you don’t know.” And given we live in a culture that is terrified of actually talking about sex in a healthy, informative, conscious manner, the fact of the matter is that most people don’t know.

But I am here to tell you, so that you do know what is possible, and that you can experience it. In fact, you have a right to.

I encourage you to understand your full orgasmic potential as a woman, because it is your birthright. (And ladies…. he’s going to have to last longer than two to seven minutes in order for you to experience it with him.)

So here you go, this is your orgasmic potential as a woman.

The 11 different flavors of orgasm in your pleasure buffet are the following delicious choices:

1. Clitoral

2. G-spot

3. A-Spot: Anterior Fornix Erogenous Zone

4. P-Spot: Posterior Fornix Erogenous Zone

5. U-Spot: Urethral Opening

5. Blended: Clitoral g-spot, clitoral a-spot, clitoral-g-spot-anal etc.

7. Ejaculatory or “squirting”

8. Anal

9. Breast/Nipple

10. Cervical/Uterine

11. Whole Body

Now, the issue is that many women may “miss” these other forms/flavors of orgasm because they are expecting them to feel the same as a clitoral orgasm. They don’t!

Each flavor of orgasm is a subtly (and sometimes not so subtly) different flavor, texture and sensation than the others. This is because each of these areas of sexual pleasure and orgasm are linked to different nerves and neurological pathways in the body.

The uterus and cervix are linked to the hypogastric nerve. The vagina and cervix are linked to the pelvic nerve. The clitoris is linked to the pudendal nerve. The vagus nerve transmits from the cervix, uterus and vagina. Physiologically we are wired to be able to experience a huge variety of sexual pleasure. It is the way we are designed, like I said “our birthright”

The female orgasm is not elusive by design. It’s illusive because we often don’t understand how to play the instrument that our body truly is. Nobody has taught us how.

This is why I advocate so strongly for this information to be heard. Not to make any woman feel inadequate, but to inspire, inform and empower all women to begin exploring their sexual pleasure, and to experience all of the body’s potential rather than just a mere fraction.

That would be like eating breadcrumbs for the rest of your life when you have access to a buffet of 11 of your favorite foods! And hey, a girl cannot thrive on breadcrumbs alone.

  1. Thank you for sharing this, Devi. I agree that this is our birthright. Women need to know about their potential when they reach womanhood…not middle age (or never). I applaud you for making this important work your mission.

i have been a practitioner tantra since 1973. I was taught that there are seven levels to an orgasm. Essentially an orgasm occurring in each of the seven chakras. I have experienced s of them personally so I know this is true. The thing is each subsequent orgasm is 7x more powerful than the one before it. 7x7x7x7x7x7x7= seventh level (Kalananda–Kali'sbliss). This notion of 11 different orgasms for women certainly makes sense. I wonder if they can be transformed into higher levels. Tantra, if nothing else, is an alchemical transformation of levels of experience into higher levels of experience. Meditate on these seven levels. I think u will see that I am right. Nameste.
