Can you build community just by asking? Musician Amanda Palmer (who I had never heard of prior to this TED video) describes heavily relying on her fans to build her success. Her secret to success: asking.

“I think people have been obsessed with the wrong question, which is how do we make people pay for music; what if we started asking how do we let people pay for music.”

Palmer’s talk suggests that when you give people a chance they often can exceed your expectations; she even exceeded her crowd funding goal for her second album 10 fold.
