The Mysterious Tree Spirits of St. Simons Island. {Breathtaking}

Tree Spirit, Wizard.

“Once there was a tree, and she loved a little boy…she loved a boy very, very much—even more than she loved herself.” ~ Shel Silverstein, The Giving Tree

I’ve always felt that my trees have a ‘life’ energy beyond what this earth shares with them.

Perhaps, this is the result of my little girl imagination who, when looking up at these limbs towering above always and forever feels their sweet embrace. And as I walk through, I’ll often hum a few bars of that Etta James‘ most brilliant rendition of the Gershwin classic,  “Someone to Watch Over Me”

“I’m a little lamb who’s lost in the wood.
I know I could always be good
To one who’ll watch over me”

I have to say, it’s how I feel really, at least at times. I suppose it’s my way of ‘asking’ the trees to ‘watch over me’ as  I make my way down this new and precarious life path. And, as I sing softly these few words, I am reminded that we are all, in fact, connected.

How wonderful it is to find that someone out there shares the very same view that I do—that these trees, do in fact, hold life.

The following tree spirits were created by the skillful hands of artist, Keith Jennings, and represent the faces of those sailors lost to the sea.

His hope was that their spirits may live on through the trees.

These are just a few of the Tree Spirits of St. Simons Island—and I think they are magnificent. I hope you feel the same way, too.
