When traveling, a culture can be revealed in a simple cup of tea. {Painting}

early morning camel trek Morocco

The wind blows fiercely across the deserted beaches of Sidi Kaouki on the western coast of Morocco.

I sit protected in the sun of a simple whitewashed surfer hotel with blue shutters drinking tea out of a colorfully painted bowl.

The blue sky and white clouds reflected in my tea. Inspired, I thought of the various ways other cultures serve tea and what a ritual it is.

A fine way to express one’s identity and see someone else’s version of life.

This simple painting caught the colors of the sand, the sunset and the spacious sky.
