“Hello,” from the passenger side—Adele is the latest to join James Corden in his Carpool Karaoke, this time from the city of London.

Having watched several of the carpool episodes now, I’m aware that James Corden can carry a tune. But listen to him here, harmonising with Adele—holy wow, Corden can sing! (Even Adele was impressed.)

And hey, move over James—because Adele is funny. (And she raps too.)

Although Corden is once again interviewing a famous person about their life, there is a genuine down-to-earth quality about this particular one. Adele is so grounded and authentic—telling stories and cackling with laughter—as though she were any of us talking to our best friend. She even brings her mug of tea with her (and spills it on her brand new coat).

Warning: This does start with the usual “Hello” gags, but once Adele gets into the car and they start chatting, what follows is gold.
