These Tweets (and Retweets) actually Happened.

Donald Trump tweets at SNL after this video about his Twitter Addiction.

7 Weeks away. “SNL has made fun of every president since the 70’s … why does Trump think he should be exempt? He needs to get his priorities straight.”

Alec Baldwin’s savage-yet-straight-up and polite response:

Update: Not the Onion: Donald Trump Tweets SNL Is ‘Totally Biased’ After Sketch About His Twitter Habit (time.com)

Update: Alec Baldwin enjoying the hell out of this: “Release your tax returns and I’ll stop. Ha.”
Update, a few Reddit comments:

“Coming from the man who appeared on SNL sketches many times himself. He HOSTED last season.”
“I love how the guy that publicly **** all over Obama for 8 years and was the catalyst for the birther movement can’t even be made fun of on SNL, is insulted by a musical, and won’t tolerate unflattering pictures of his double chin posted of on the internet…

…Classic definition of a bully. He’s going to get…pounded by foreign leaders.
…He already is. http://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2016/Pres/Maps/Dec04.html/#item-1

And while it may not be clear exactly what Trump is thinking, there is one thing that has already become crystal clear: He is being played by the world’s leaders. Tsai Ing-wen never got Barack Obama on the phone, and likely never even tried. On the other hand, she jumped at the opportunity to ring Trump, and then promptly let everyone (translation: China) know the call had taken place. Pakistan’s Nawaz Sharif went even further, not only getting a call through to The Donald, but then releasing the transcript, so that everyone (translation: India) could see it. These are shrewd operators, with decades in public service, who sense that there is an amateur in Trump Tower just waiting to be exploited. The longer that Trump & Co. deny this, the more damage that will be done.

SNL makes fun of Trump’s inability not to tweet. Trump, unaware of any irony, tweets [see below tweet] in reply.

Reader comment: “Former presidents not only laughed at their portrayals on SNL, President Bush (senior) invited Dana Carvey to the White House. If he’s going to tweet every time someone makes fun of him, we are in trouble.”

It’d be funny if it weren’t…true.

For more: “SNL made fun of Trump’s compulsive tweeting. 45 minutes later, Trump tweeted about it.”

Via Vox: “As of press time, it was not clear whether Trump really did stop watching SNL after the cold open, whether he stuck around for Weekend Update’s continued hammering of his tweeting habits, or whether he understood the irony of tweeting about a sketch that depicted his tweeting as an impulse he can’t help but indulge.”

From last week:

Trump vs SNL: “It is a totally one-sided, biased show.” Here’s Alec Baldwin’s response.
