Pittsburgh to Host Cutting-Edge Evolver Convergence.

Find the others.

Evolver, an international organization devoted to consciousness expansion and visionary art headquartered in Manhattan, publisher of the popular transformational culture web magazine Reality Sandwich and mother of local chapters (called “spores”) all around the world, will hold its first ever Convergence (a conference-like happening emphasizing celebration and unity) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on the weekend of June 1-3, 2012.

The Convergence will feature as its headliners both Evolver co-founders Daniel Pinchbeck (author of 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl) and Jonathan Talat-Phillips (author of Electric Jesus: The Healing Journey of a Contemporary Gnostic) alongside the rising star of new economic theory, Charles Eisenstein (author of Sacred Economics and The Ascent of Humanity).

Some might find it strange that the city of Pittsburgh, which still battles an inaccurate image as a staid blue-collar town, would play host to a large-scale, far-out and glamorous event like the Evolver Convergence, but members of Evolver Pittsburgh (the local “spore”) consider it a natural fit.

“Pittsburgh seems to be undergoing a cultural renaissance of sorts,” comments Sophie Batchelor, a Convergence organizer and South Carolina native who moved to Pittsburgh three years ago to enjoy the city’s high quality of life and thriving-yet-intimate arts scene. “I think the artists and the innovators that choose to live here and bring in exciting events like this give evidence of that,” Batchelor reflects. “Of all the cities that could have hosted it, we had the people who were committed enough to make the Evolver Convergence happen. I’m so happy to be both a part of this particular event and a part of this bigger unfolding as Pittsburgh comes out of its chrysalis.”
