I get a ton of emails from PR agents about books or moisturizers or exercises that will help you and I to “reverse aging!” “Say young forever!” “erase wrinkles!” “Grow your hair back!” I’m all for fear of death in everyday life, helps dull the exquisite miracle that is daily life, but lemme remind you and I of something: even if you’re young, death is but a moment away. Life is uncertain. Carpe Diem.

    A lot of those products are claiming they can stop the *signs* of aging, which is altogether a different claim; to some extent, it's possible. I suspect anyone who believes something like Oil of Olay or whatever is claiming to "stop aging" is just failing to properly engage with the language.

    Did you click that Deepak link, at bottom? There are countless overt claims to reverse aging, help you stay young… it's transparently but subtle bullshiite. ~ W.

  6. I don't really get the whole anti-aging obsession. I thought I would start to feel it after 30. Then I thought maybe 35 would do it & I would want Botox, fancy eye creams, etc. Nope. Maybe after 40? 50? I have experienced so many amazing things – why wouldn't I want that to show on my face?
