“What Kind of Country We Want To Be.”

I’m proud to live in a decade when President Obama is my man in the White House. I don’t take that for granted.

Couch-bound criticism is easy, but active, respectful criticism matched with forceful support and respectful criticism of the 1% is even better.

Thanks for signing the NDAA Mr. President. Mr. Cheney would be proud of you.

If you read beyond headlines, you'd know he didn't have a choice, and made the best of it, taking specific exception…but I've probably gone on too long for you?

A few comments from readers over at Reddit:

    Promise to end wars

He's ended the Iraq occupancy, reduced (along with Russia) the collective number of nukes domestically and abroad, oversaw the killing of Osama bin Laden, is slowly cutting down the military budget, and just today revealed plans to cut one trillion dollars in Pentagon spending over the next five years (and reduce the number of troops deployed by 50,000).

    Restore American Jobs

Unemployment was driven above 10% a few months after Obama took office before the effects of the ARRA took hold. It's now around 8.5%/8.6%. Decreasing unemployment by that much in the span of three years is a pretty big accomplishment.

    Fight for your liberties

Appointed someone to the Supreme Court who voted against the Citizens Untied case (which he himself spoke out against), ended DADT, and got the Department of Justice to stop hearing cases against repealing same-sex marriages.

Also, given that two liberal-leaning Supreme Court justices will be leaving the bench in the next few years, I'd rather have a President who appoints replacements who won't try to intensify the fight against gays or be supportive of overturning Roe v. Wade.

This is the extremely abridged version. Here is a much more detailed list of things Obama has accomplished. Even just a fraction of these earn me his vote.

Ich hatte zwar nach einem Online Shop gesucht. Aber diese Seite gefällt mit ganz gut.
