Eight Songs to help you Wake Up.

(Photo: Pinterest)

Waking up is hard to do.

Sleeping in would be so nice, but most days that isn’t an option. So, I get up. Do a little internal sit down and wake up (because if I skip that, I’m not fun to be around at all.) And then—music:

Some mornings call for Huey Lewis and the News

(Don’t argue. You know it’s true.)

Other mornings—I go back to my Celtic roots and turn it up loud.

(Which is say, as loud as it will go)

I heard this one the other day for the first time in a long time.

Now it’s back in my morning rotation.

And other mornings, like Saturday mornings, when I don’t get up any earlier than the rest of the week but it just feels so wrong to have to be up and out and pleasant and massaging people (who the hell gets a massage at 9 am on a Saturday I ask you?) those mornings I need a little extra.

When you don’t want to wake up, wake up:

And if that doesn’t cut it, this one works for me:

(Unfortunate lyrics, but great tune. Note to men everywhere—don’t f*ck with Florence!)

This one always makes me smile:

Then, Sunday mornings are nice to ease into:

And if all else fails: Beirut

Enjoy your morning!
