Another classic quote: if Buddhism, the Dalai Lama’s religion, and science conflict…go with science.

“My confidence … lies in my basic belief that as in science so in Buddhism, understanding the nature of reality is pursued by means of critical investigation: if scientific analysis were conclusively to demonstrate certain claims in Buddhism to be false, then we must accept the findings of science and abandon those claims.”

The problem isn’t religion.

The problem is believing that our religion is the single and only way. It may be wonderful; it may be powerful; it’s wisdom may be true: but if we’re willing to fight others about it, we’re not in keeping with our own religion’s values.

Yup: the Dalai Lama’s on twitter!
