Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis.

Waylon sits down (virtually) with world travelers Dennis Schoneveld and “Yoga Girl” Rachel Brathen to talk about mindful relationships, veganism, jealousy, shacks and staying away from Rachel when she’s hangry.

About a month ago, Rachel was on Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis:

Rachel Brathen is a yogi on a world tour. Born and raised in Sweden, she currently resides on the beautiful island of Aruba where she is busy teaching yoga at a resort in the mornings, coordinating retreats at noon, taking her three somewhat crazy dogs to the beach to keep up with the surf in the afternoon and trying to survive as a vegan (where no vegetables grow!) in the evenings. She firmly believes that life is not black or white—it’s black and white and blue and yellow with rays of pink and sparkle in between. You can teach yoga and still be a party animal. Meditate and ignore your spending problems. Be vegan and eat too much chocolate. Have a Swedish passport and live in the Caribbean. You can do anything, as long as it’s you! You can find Rachel on the beach, probably practicing her Astavakrasana, on Facebook or on elephant journal as a featured columnist.

Find daily inspiration from Rachel on Instagram as @yoga_girl with half a million followers—one of the largest yoga accounts in the world.

  1. Ilona says:

How do you keep your ego in check in this relationship? How do you not become too attached and dependent of the other person while you still are the other half of this union? In other words, how do you not lose yourself into this relationship?

  2. Laura says:

Hello! I would love to know about your spirituality! Do you two practise meditation/prayer together? Also I really wonder how you two stay balanced!! Thank you 😀

  3. Johanna says:

Did Dennis practice yoga before he met Rachel? What languages do they speak together?

  4. Chelsea says:

In as little words as possible (lets say 5 or less) would you please answer: What is it All about to you?

    Thank you.

  5. Alex says:

Can you tell me about how to heal my hurt hip flexors – they are really tight!! As well as hips 🙂

  6. Mari James says:

This question is appropriate to both of you, seeing as Dennis has recently completed his Yoga teacher training now too. At what point in your Yoga practice did you consider the idea of teaching, and what did you feel you could offer as a teacher in Yoga? I have been studying Yoga for 4 years now, and feel that I would really like to teach my experience of it.

  7. Lauren M. says:

Dennis, how do you like teaching?

  8. ttht says:

Was this an interview about Waylon or Rachel and Dennis? The questions were pertinent and meaningful and the answers somehow came back to Waylon's love life, work life, etc.. Maybe there could be a little more about the interviewees as opposed to the interviewer next time?

  9. elephantjournal says:

I'm not an interviewer. This isn't a q&a. It's a two-way street. As with Jon Stewart or others far more famous than I, it's a conversation. Thanks!

Sorry you didn't like it. 😉
