cb21cdc6775b0f8afb3eb4b5739b73b9

These days it feels like time is rushing by and in a blink of an elephant’s eye, with buds (almost) ready to sprout on the trees and the snow melting, we have another group of graduate apprentices ready to leave us for their next adventure.

Oh, parting is such sweet sorrow.

To each of you beating hearts—Kathryn Rutz, Melissa Horton, Richard May, Alicia Wozniak, Cami Krueger, Heather Hendry, Jennifer Moore, Ffion Jones, Guenevere Neufeld, Tifany Lee, Holly Horne, Brenna Fischer, Christina Lorenzo, Lauren Savoy—thank you, thank you. It was been a joy and an honor to work with you all.

Here are your favorite words from the past four months; may you write for all the rest of your days.

Kathryn Rutz: 21 Things I’d Do Differently: a Mother’s Look Back.

Melissa Horton: Cracked Wide Open: Healing the Heart.

Richard May: What My Son has Taught Me About Fatherhood.

Alicia Wozniak: We Animals.

Cami Krueger: Life Will Never Be The Same.

Heather Hendry: A Break Up Letter to My Ego.

Jennifer Moore: Is there a Morning After Pill for This?

Ffion Jones: How to Be Your Own Magic 8 Ball.

Guenevere Neufeld: Elephants of Hope: Stories About Healing.

Tifany Lee: A Generation of Slackers.

Holly Horne: Teaching from a Place of Vulnerability.

Brenna Fischer: Travel, Sacrifice & Late Night Subway Slumber Parties.

Christina Lorenzo: Comfort Me with Eggs.

Lauren Savory: The Love Systems.

We bow our trunks to you, friends—Waylon Lewis, Lindsey Block, Bryonie Wise, Catherine Monkman, Rachel Nussbaum, Jenna P. Lyons and Renee Picard.

“Don’t tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass.”

~ Anton Chekhov
