  1. Uh oh. California? worst for business? Oy to the vey.

  2. Justin says:

Vermont is the state with the least Iraq war casualties, lower than Hawaii, North Dakota, Rhode Island. The least. http://icasualties.org/Iraq/USCasualtiesByState.a
This whole terribly sourced thing never should have happened. But I clicked on it, so I guess you win.

  3. Jenny says:

Maryland, most cursing? Shit, I'll take it!

  4. grawp says:

F you and your source for the happiest cities map. Combined with the Money magazine rating for Best place to raise children, I may be forced to leave the place I like because the rent will become prohibitive. A curse on people who choose rather than working to better the place they already live to just buy their way into the place that other people worked to make better. Such people are cheap. No wonder Colorado also leads in the most use of the drug of arrogance–cocaine.

  5. Amoreena says:

Why such a negative post? Especially one that is immediately torn to shreds factually before it’s even done. Also, Minnesota may have such a high rate of drug and alcohol dependency because they lead the nation in treatment and sufferers flock there from other states for good treatment…

  6. Paul says:

What are these states BEST at?…

  7. isabelle says:

why do you think colorado is so arrogant, can you elaborate?

  8. Claire says:

    Maryland, f*ck yeah!

  9. Steve Jobs says:

California worst state for business? Please. Tell that to Google. Or Apple. Or Facebook. Or Twitter. Or Disney. Or Wells Fargo. Clearly, Colorado is pretty bad place for journalism.

  10. Susan says:

No surprise that Tennessee is noted for bankruptcy filings. It’s one of the handful of states remaining where your primary residence can’t be touched through a bankruptcy. Kinda crazy … a person can file for bankruptcy and continue to live in their mega-home.

  11. Dawn says:

It would be nice in the new year if we could all focus on the positives instead of the negatives. I think it would help man kind significantly.

  12. Manda says:

I couldn’t agree with you more!

  13. linda says:

ohhh it must be a collective energy. i was wondering why ive been cursing so much

  14. MR G says:

I agree Just checked and that makes me doubtful about rest of map. Could it be based on a per capita fig of pop or military age people?
