Acai “Purple Bliss” Bowl Recipe.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Want to go to smoothie heaven? Well, that’s where you are going to feel like you are when you try this recipe!

Acai Bowls energize my Soul  in the summer.

I have a love and passion for these delicious, antioxidant, healthy, omega charged smoothies in a bowl!

First you may ask, “What is an Acai Berry?” Acai (ah-sigh-ee) is a tiny purple palm berry fruit and is the “Super Fruit” King of the Jungle in Brazil.

Be careful and eat at your own risk—they may just make you feel like the King of the Jungle and create a “Purple Bliss” addiction!

Acai Bowls are my go to snack/meal, especially on summer days. And they can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch or dinner. In other words, Anytime of the day is the perfect time for this “Purple Bliss Smoothie in a Bowl!”

Acai Superfood bowls not only taste great but they allow me to feel good about the choice I have made for my body. This “purple bliss” fuels my body with healthy energy that is good for my soul—inside and out.

The first thing you do is create the smoothie base. Once you create the base your choices for toppings are endless.

Fun Tip-–I like to create fun names for my bowl recipes like “Namaste Bowl,” “Ommmm Recharge,” “California Love Bowl” or “Maui Sunrise.”

The “Base” Recipe
• 1 cup Almond Milk (you can use unsweetened or vanilla)
• 1 Acai Frozen Smoothie Pack (or 6 oz Acai Smoothie drink—if you use the smoothie drink do not add Almond milk)
• 1 Tbsp Honey
• ½ Banana
• 1/2 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
• 7 mango chunks, frozen
• 7 pineapple chunks, frozen
• 7 strawberries, frozen

Base Blending Instructions:
• When using the frozen Acai smoothie pack you need to break the mix into chunks, otherwise pour 6 oz. of the smoothie into the blender
• Add all ingredients, in the order listed, into a blender
• Select “Frozen Yogurt/ Ice Cream” option or blend until smooth

There are many different options for Acai smoothie mixes and drinks. My personal favorite is the “Breakfast Blend Drink” and the “Unsweetened Frozen Smoothie Pack” by Sambazon. Both options can be purchased in most grocery stores. It’s so nice that you no longer have to go to specialty stores to get their products! Convenience makes me happy.

Remember, if you use the drinks you omit the Almond Milk and may also omit the banana (if you want to save on calories).

Every one will have a desired thickness—if you find that you like yours thicker than what this recipe provides, just add a few more frozen strawberries until you arrive at your desired thickness.

Your choice for toppings is unlimited.

Here are some of my favorite toppings to help get your taste buds creatively thinking:
Bananas, strawberries, blueberries, papaya, mango, granola (Vanilla Almond Kashi GoLean Crunch), Banana Nut Crunch Cereal, chopped almonds, coconut shreds, honey, chia seeds, hemp seeds, cacao nibs, goji berries, bee pollen, Spirulina.

You can also experiment with adding some body loving greens, like kale or spinach, in with your smoothie base mix. A handful of greens will provide additional vitamins to your smoothie without even noticing!

Now—Go Get Your Summer On—let your creativity fly and create your own mouthwateringly worthy Acai Purple Bliss Bowl!
