These are a nice way to work a little dharma or wisdom or compassion or happiness into your daily life:

Most people don’t really want to become Buddhist, or any religion particularly, but everyone wants to be happy.” ~ Waylon Lewis

" 'My' Best Buddhist Books for Beginners" didn't fit the editor's alliteration plan. 😉
Best Buddhist Books for Beginners becomes better- bluntly, because brother B's belong beside buddies.
"Breathe!" bellowed Buddha.

Awakening the Buddhist Heart is an amazing book. My father gave me a copy when I was around fifteen years old and it changed my life.

Er, this list is somewhat biased, don't you think?

    anonymous Feb 25, 2015 10:17pm

Well, it's my list. If I ask you for your favorite movies, and you take the time to share them with me, I don't tell you your list is biased. That said, I took pains to share a wide selection of authors. But these are my faves.

You are so spot on nickribush, just a little biased. The title of the article does not say MY list of the best, it simply eludes to the best of all and there are many phenomenal books/authors not listed. This changes my entire perception of this page

Peace Is Every Step by Thich Nhat Hanh. My first book and still my favorite. It's like reading a reassuring hug 🙂

*True Perception is the name for the updated book formerly titled Dharma Art.

It's Easier Than You Think by Sylvia Boorstein. Older book, very good and dare I say *fun*.

    Thank you for the recommendation!
