5 Tips for Starting a Business.

work together

One sunny South African day, a struggling yoga teacher and a struggling entrepreneur meet.

We quickly figure out that we share the same dreams and ambitions and that together we will probably struggle less.

Many people have great ideas and start businesses, but don’t actually end up following through. It is easy to lose sight of our end goal when we have to deal with the finer details.

It gets hard.

Especially when the honeymoon stage of the business idea is over and we actually have to make it happen. Things can get frustrating and staying motivated and inspired is key to seeing it through.

We’ve discovered five helpful tips that can help when it seems like everything is upside down.

1. Don’t give up.

Starting a business is not for sissies. It is tough, but if there is one thing we have learned, it not to give up—ever. If it is something that is close to our hearts and we know that it is what we really want to do with our lives then we owe it to ourselves to see it through.

There will be hard days and better days. Days of some money and days of no money. It will be a roller coaster ride of emotions and uncertainties but together they will form our character and business. Our worries masters us.

So make sure to stay focused on our gains and make a point of not paying too much attention to the highs and lows. This will really help you to stay centered and balanced.

2. Support.

Having someone to lean on through the days when we are feeling low are invaluable. Starting a business with someone means that you will spend a lot of time together. We have found that when one of us is feeling good the other may be having a bad day.

So it’s important to get outside support. Then you can challenge each other to think in new and different ways.

3. Have fun.

It is important to remember that life shouldn’t be taken too seriously. We are all making it up as we go along. Enjoying the process is an important part of creating a successful end product that people will be drawn to.

We have met so many incredible people along the way. People that have helped us sculpt our ideas and have been there to encourage and support us all the way. Remember that people support people, not businesses, and they fall in love with other people’s passion.

So, never lose your spunk and keep it fun, even if you are trying to work out a business plan and you don’t have the faintest idea of what they are going on about.

4. Stay true to ourselves.

What others think of us is not important. How we feel about ourselves is all that matters.

Our beauty comes from having our own style, living our own way and knowing our own mind.

Keep reminding ourselves that the magic that we can contribute to the world is much larger than any mistakes we’ve made.

5. Stay busy.

Exercise or any form of movement can play a huge part in keeping a positive attitude and keep us focused on our goals. The wonderful feeling of achievement that we experience after a good workout will linger throughout the day.

Staying busy also allows things to unfold naturally and effortlessly.

Keeping busy help us not to worry about the finer details. Always remember that we are where we need to be. Everything we need will come to us at the perfect time.

There is a huge amount of freedom that comes when we take nothing personally.

Now go. Be love. The world needs you.
