“We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.” ~ Dalai Lama

Let’s commit to cultivating inner peace every day—just three minutes to a better us. We love the idea of this campaign, via sponsor Ipnotica.

Life is getting busier. We have to go faster and do more in less time. More work, more responsibility, more pressure, more technology. We rarely get the chance to switch off and feel at peace. Our bodies weren’t designed to cope with the constant stimulation and pressure that 21st century life presents us with, so it’s no wonder that stress has become a modern epidemic affecting over 70% of US citizens.

Stress has become normal. Socially acceptable. We talk about how stressed and busy we are, how much we have to do, the pressure we’re under, the deadlines we’re working on.  It’s almost as though we have to be stressed to fit in!

When we’re stressed we get disconnected from our natural ability to feel peaceful, and the negative effects ripple out all around us. You’re more likely to feel overwhelmed, impatient and less able to cope so you pick a fight with your partner, yell at your children, bicker with your colleagues or snap at the barista. We’ve all been there.

Stress affects our sleep, our libido and our physical health. It’s making us sick and it’s not just affecting us on a personal level. We only need to turn on the news to see how our collective lack of inner peace affects the outer world. Cruelty, violence, war, poverty, destruction of our natural resources. The stress we feel on a personal level is getting projected out on a global scale.

Yet collectively we have the power to create a more peaceful world where serenity, happiness and connection are the new normal!

The good news is that according to the Mayo Clinic and Oprah Winfrey website, it only takes three minutes of meditation a day to start feeling a difference in your life. Those three minutes can change everything. I believe that those three minutes could change the world.

We create a peaceful world by cultivating peace within ourselves. Peace and serenity then ripple out all around us, instead of stress and impatience.

I first turned to yoga and meditation almost 20 years ago because my stress migraines were wiping me out for days at a time. It was love at first sight and I’ve been teaching meditation to other people for over 12 years. But I know that cultivating inner peace every day can be a challenge.

It’s wonderful when you can get to a yoga workshop or a meditation class but you know as well as I do that it’s not always possible. And how do we maintain our serenity when we’re off the yoga mat, juggling the demands of family life or when we’re up against a deadline in the office? Ancient spiritual teachers may have been able to spend entire days meditating in blissful isolation, but most of us nowadays are trying to find a way to cultivate inner peace despite the pressures of modern life and it isn’t always easy.

That’s why I sat up and paid attention when Andrea and Suzanne at Ipnotica first told me about their plans for the Personal Relaxation Pod.

They want to make peace a quick and easy choice for everyone, so they’ve just launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund production of the Personal Relaxation Pod. It’s a gorgeous new concept that gives you a simple way to choose peace over stress every single day. Combining ancient knowledge on cultivating inner peace with American technology and stylish Italian design, the Personal Relaxation Pod is a multi-sensory meditation experience. It’s been designed to give you a quiet space to experience inner serenity even when life is busy and stressful.

Andrea first had the idea for the Personal Relaxation Pod when his stress headaches made him want to hide under his desk. I know exactly how that feels, and I know what a difference it makes to be able to take even just three minutes to breathe deep and recenter when stress is getting too much.

The thing that I find really exciting about the Personal Relaxation Pod is its potential to make meditation accessible to so many more people. We’re all connected, so each positive personal choice we make has a strong positive impact on the world. As you become more peaceful, the world becomes more peaceful. That’s not just a nice philosophical idea, it’s scientific fact.

Studies have shown that individual brainwaves affect the collective unconscious. A study in one of the most violent inner city areas in the UK discovered that when just over 1% of the local population meditated regularly, crime rates went down by over 13%.

If 1% of the population meditating regularly has a positive impact on crime rates, imagine what could happen if 2% of us meditated for three minutes every day, or 5% or even 10%? What kind of world could we create then?

I believe that together we have the power to create a new epidemic of peace, and those of us who know the benefits of meditation and yoga need to be the voice of that movement because we know it works! Ipnotica Relaxation have created a fast and easy way to restore inner peace and now they need our help to get the Personal Relaxation Pod manufactured and into the hands of the people who most need it. Like your mom who’s anxious about going into hospital or your exhausted best friend who’s at home with two young kids or your son who’s studying hard at school and finding it hard to concentrate.

The Personal Relaxation Pod will make inner peace easy and accessible for people who might not otherwise try meditation and that’s powerful. Because when enough of us focus on inner peace—even if it’s just for three minutes a day—the benefits will ripple out and change the world for the better.

When you support this Indiegogo campaign, you aren’t just contributing to the manufacture of the first Personal Relaxation Pods, (although they’re so beautifully designed I suspect you’ll want to be one of the first to get your hands on one!) you’re part of a bigger vision.

I don’t want to live in a world where it’s normal to feel stressed, anxious and depleted. I want to live in a world where it’s normal to feel peaceful, happy and connected and where those values are reflected in an outer world of peace, kindness, tolerance and respect.

When enough of us choose peace over stress, we will create a world where peace is the new normal. I’m committing to three minutes of meditation every single day because I believe that’s how we will change the world. Are you with me?

Check out the Indiegogo perks starting at $2, and even if you can’t contribute financially you can support the campaign by sharing this post. #3MinutesToPeace
