Trying to integrate the differing areas of life—spiritual, physical, professional and romantic—is a modern woman’s hero’s journey.
All are important to us, presenting specific challenges and demands. Yet too often they can feel as though they’re competing with each other, leaving us bereft in one area even if we’re succeeding at another.
Our deepest longing is to bring them all together. The Aphrodite Training: On the Convergence of Woman, Goddess and Lover, speaks to this conversation and harnesses its power. Taking place October 23-25, 2015, live in Los Angeles and via livestream, this ultimate women’s seminar is designed to help blend our worldly and romantic desires harmoniously and synergistically.
Our goal is to find the place where our spiritual, worldly and romantic selves all live within us as a garden and not a competition.

This is from my blog entitled “Honoring Athena, Embracing Aphrodite:”
Many contemporary women now embody the Greek goddess Athena, while craving a visit from the goddess Aphrodite. Yet the gods only come to where they are fully embodied. Embodying Athena, we attract worldly achievement; embodying Aphrodite, we attract love. What’s exciting about being a Western woman today is that we’re allowed to embody as many and whatever goddesses we choose. For those who seek a deeper romance, it serves to embody Aphrodite for she is the goddess of romantic love. In order to become her, we must approach her with reverence and love. “Aphrodite’s temple” is a real psychic vortex, as is any divine space, with steps to be climbed in order to enter. There are both external and internal stairs to climb before entering Aphrodite’s temple, and all of them can be learned.
Even those who feel that they have failed at love can receive the blessing of Aphrodite’s touch. She rewards those willing and ready to love: those who have succeeded, yes, but also those who arrive at her temple weekend in the wars of love, now ready to make peace with the parts of themselves that have tried and failed at romantic relationships, shown up and been rejected, had the chance and blown the opportunity. Once we are ready for her, she is ready for us; and once joining with her, we embody her. Then love arrives on angel’s wings, for gods can do what only gods can do. And love surrenders to their slightest command.
It is time for a more enlightened, holistic feminism. In A Course in Miracles, it is written that it’s not our job to seek for love, but only to seek within ourselves all the barriers we hold against its coming. At The Aphrodite Training, we will seek and we will find.
I look forward to a weekend cultivating and honoring the woman, the goddess, and the lover in us all.
