The Deepest Lessons in Yoga.

Kate Oakley (https://www.instagram.com/adornedphotography/)

There are times when I’m overwhelmed with the beauty of life—its tender ephemerality, its fleeting glory, that sense of the infinite and eternal that you can experience but never hold on to.

And in this, my faith is convicted: I know why I’m here. I know why I do this practice everyday.

Yoga is about the inner truth, the simple fact that who you are is good enough, strong enough, bright enough, more than enough. But maybe more than that even, yoga is not even about you at some level, or at least not the personal you, maybe it’s about tapping out into a power bigger and greater than you can imagine. Maybe it’s about the transcendental experience of divinity right here in the ground of your own body.

Maybe the deepest lessons in yoga are about learning how to surrender the ego by peeling off layers of emotional armor and unnecessary stickiness, about being vulnerable and strong because you finally know who you are.

You know your worth, and nothing will ever shake you again.
