So what is that genuine heart of sadness?

The notion, from a Buddhist point of view, is that you don’t want to armor yourself with arrogance, you don’t want to armor yourself with bluster, or with anything really. You want to armor yourself with vulnerability, with openness.”

“When things are difficult, you have to communicate. When you’re feeling confusion, you have to communicate that. If you can communicate when you’re down, when you’re out, when you’re confused, you can get through almost anything. And that’s an incredibly powerful notion. In Buddhism they call that the vajra.”
