It was Never Real. {Poem}

It’s kind of unbelievable
That in a single moment
Everything that you thought you knew
Thought you believed
Can change

Months and months of joyous
Love-filled moments
In the length of one breath

The plans
Mistaken projections

Mourning the reality
Of what is
And what could’ve been

What wasn’t even real

It was never real

It felt almost too good to be true
Because it was

When  I thought I was building a life with you
You were building yours
With her.
