There is a process of separation happening right now in our world.
I am on a path of connection and presence to myself others, and the earth, and I have learned the best way to cultivate this is through experience.
One of the most powerful tools I’ve found is acroyoga. It is a deeply satisfying practice for socialization, trust, communication, physical fitness, support, and creativity.
Five signs that now is the time for you to begin doing acroyoga:
Sign number one: there is a longing to connect deeper with one’s partner.
For those of us who want to deepen a relationship, but our partner is not into talking about their feelings, acroyoga is an amazing tool to boost our bond and communication.
Practicing together has been the most powerful tool for my fiancé and I to improve our relationship. It’s helped us fight less and have more emotional reconnection, laughter, and support, along with a deep respect and valuing of one another.
Sign number two: one has a committed yoga practice, but it feels like something is missing.
Yoga is a beautiful practice of going inward and focusing on the self. It’s a relationship with our body, mind, and emotions.
At a certain point of going within, a call may come to explore beyond oneself to harmoniously collaborate with others and the earth. Acroyoga provides a training grounds to practice working together for cooperative growth.
Sign number three: life is stressful and there is a desire for more joy.
Chronic stress is known to contribute to anxiety, low self-esteem, and reduced energy. Stress is a part of all of our lives.
The power of doing something playful like acroyoga is like pressing a reset button; it increases serotonin levels, a chemical that regulates things like sleeping patterns, memory, body temperature, and mood—and it helps us relax and connect with others naturally. For example, if you’re having a bad day, then five minutes of acro playtime can be a mood-changer.
Sign number four: an aspiration to feel confident in one’s body.
There is a desire to see what is possible—whether it’s staying fit or losing weight, or building self-love and confidence. Ultimately, the time has come to be in relationship with your physical body on a deeper level.
Acroyoga offers tools to empower confidence and feel physically good. Whether striking a beautiful pose as a flyer or fully supporting someone as a base, it’s a practice to get the body moving, get toned, and strong.
Sign number five: trusting others is a challenge.
All of us deal with mistrust. We’ve been taught who we should and shouldn’t trust. And we’ve even learned how to withhold trust when we feel unsafe because we’ve been hurt before.
If you’re ready to trust again, acroyoga is a safe way to practice opening up. Acroyoga allows us to cultivate the feeling of trust in our bodies so we have access to the freedom to relax into the moment. It helps us to learn how to get to know the feeling of trust better and make better choices for ourselves in other aspects of life.
There are few things more exciting than acro. The most beautiful thing about it is that it is a deep and genuine way of connecting to the earth and to one another—opening the door for greater vision, collaboration, and cooperation to make the world a better place.
In the comments below, I’d love to hear which of these signs you’re connecting with the most.
