I am guilty

I have not done what I should

I do NOT want pity

I am not asking for kind reassurances or forgiveness

I need to face the dark monsters of our society

Old as the first landing in the East, though I thought I had.

The first tribe of Indians forced from their home

The Genocide of tribes and nations

The boats with rattling chains of human cargo

No different then cattle to those sailing them across tumulus waters

Lynchings

Drinking fountains

Lunch counters

Fear

So much fear that has never left

The unspeakable horrors

Unspeakable

Most of us will never know anything even close to this.

But we must speak

We must not put on our 3D Disney glasses to create a wonderland

We must look right at the sun

Burn out our past views and

Learn to see all over again

A solar eclipse of all we are

And come out changed

We MUST CHANGE!!!

The unspeakable continues to happen

And we run from one horror to the next

Shocked

angry

But it’s time to    STOP

Grab hands

Hold on tight

Arm wrestle the lies and pain  till we win

Till we see thru eyes that are no longer Cataract clouded

Till we are stronger than the inhumanity to man that swirls around us like cyclones in the summer heat.

I am opening myself up to be present

There is no longer any choice if I want that Underground Railroad to close forever.

Through the woods undergrowth and across rivers

I must lead the way

Myself

In my world

In my sphere

It’s what today I can

Do

I can learn

Love

Above all love

Throw your compassion out like fireflies

Little lights that illuminate the darkness

Till we reach the better land
