Top 10 Signs and Symptoms of Anxiety Disorder

Whether you are a student, couple, businessman or retired person, we all have experienced some kind of anxiety in our life.

Sometimes you are feeling stressed, worried about something, about your study, work, life, relationship. It could be like you failed to get focus on something, started sweating.

Did you ever feel the same way? My friend’s father has this same issue and now it’s been continuing for almost several days, to weeks, to months to years.

Sometimes this gets so worsen that her father even couldn’t stand up on his own leg.

Hope you are getting little bit idea of its worse effect. In medical term, this called anxiety disorder. And anxiety can also trigger asthma attacks.

I am here trying to focus on the symptoms. How will you realize that you are having anxiety and need experts to help…

  1. Excessive Worrying

The most common term in daily life we heard is “stop worrying”. Because excessive worrying may trigger anxiety.

Some people pretend excessive worrying in daily life as a normal but avoiding it may cause serious problems that will be difficult to avoid.

And this could make it difficult to concentrate and complete any task.

  1. Feeling Angry –

Did you feel sometimes nervous anxious or out of your mind? You just don’t have control in yourself? Sudden excitement makes you restless?

This happens with me too. It’s like, our mind is sensing some danger and preparing own body to fight.

Your brain will start increasing blood in your body and heart. Your heart will start beating fast. Your palm started getting sweaty.

And these whole things happen because you are deliberately feeling threat in your mind.

  1. Fatigue

Are you feeling less motivated, always tired, no social interaction? This might cause fatigue. And fatigue is one of the potential symptoms of anxiety.

Insomnia, depression, anaemia and some other health issue may cause fatigue. And this may lead to less appetite, brain fog, muscle and joint pain.

So what you need, is to know yourself in a better way and solve the health issues you are having..

  1. Irritability

We have a terrible experience in daily life which may cause irritation. Mostly middle-aged people are suffering from irritability and anxiety disorder more than twice.

It is behaviour to the circumstances that cause annoyance or frustration. In a complex way, it causes stress and persistent irritability in daily life.

But what makes it more irresistible, that sometimes it indicates an underlying condition, such as an infection or diabetes.

  1. Muscle weakness and lethargy –

Are you feeling tired, dizziness or cold hands? Sometimes you are feeling muscles pain, or joint pain?

Anaemia, diabetes, Hypothyroidism, insomnia, or electrolyte imbalance may cause lethargy and which is the most common symptoms of anxiety disorder.

A study following nearly 1,000 children over 20 years found that having insomnia in childhood..

  1. Panic attack –

A panic attack is one kind of anxiety disorder. A panic attack can occur for many reasons like the sudden death of loved once, excessive smoking or caffeine intake, or major stress in life for the long term.

And it can be unpredictable.

Short ness of breath, dizziness, shaking, and sweating can be symptoms of a panic attack.

  1. Digestive problem –

Your anxiety may strongly lead to stomach problem such as irritable bowel syndrome. Stress-induced gastritis may cause heartburn, less appetite, vomiting.

Each body handles stress differently, but the problem is when people don’t even realize the seriousness of it.

Research says 74% of Americans suffers from diarrhoea, gas, abdominal pain.

  1. Avoid social life –

Did you feel nervous or worried about upcoming events? Did you feel fearful about judged by others or humiliating situation?

This fearfulness may cause anxiety which mostly ignored by parents. Because social anxiety mostly develops in the early stage of life.

They mostly appear shy and introvert during this period. Which may generate to low self-esteem and high self-criticism.

  1. Unknown fear –

Some kind of phobia or excessive irrigational fear may lead to anxiety. Like any animal, natural environment, blood, or any kind of situation could be the cause of it.

Agrophobia is fear of being alone in a public place which may cause severe anxiety in daily life and interfere to act normally.

Social phobia is the most common phobia and 9.1% people of Americans have a specific phobia and many others have more than one specific phobia.

  1. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) –

Ocd is a mental health disorder which can affect people of all ages. It is like unreasonable thoughts and fear which may lead to compulsive behaviours.

Obsession towards unwanted thoughts, feelings, ideas and behaviour which may cause anxiety.

We can generalize OCD as a healthy version of anxiety but excessive or severe symptoms may lead to extreme condition.

I tried mostly to cover all symptoms of anxiety that you could take care of.

But there are types of anxiety we should know –

  1. Agoraphobia
  2. Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
  3. Obsessive-compulsive disorder
  4. Panic Attack
  5. Post-traumatic stress disorder
  6. Phobias

I don’t know whether you are a parent or for yourself looking for a solution. But avoiding such symptoms could worsen over time. Treating your anxiety with the help of an expert is the best solution before it gets worsen.
