The Rainbow comes and goes after the rain ☔️ – A Poem

Photo by ROMAN ODINTSOV on Pexels.

What will you do, when I come to you
With all my colors
The one that are bright, the one that fade

Will you try to change me
So you can create me in your hue
Let me be the way, you want to see

What will you do, if I say my colors no longer hold true
some are blue, some are definitely gray now

Will you say, you are no longer you
You are not the one I knew

What will I do, what can I do
When you turn away
Will I just say

I am still bright
Only my colors turning a shade light

The one that truly shines
through all my colors
is the rainbow of my life

A life well lived
A life well traveled
Only now do I know

I travel alone
Still shining bright
But you in the distance
Seem further away from my sight
Oh, Seem even further away from my sight

One day my light leaves all the colors behind
My body and my mind
You come to my funeral
Crying so loud
That all my colors danced
Knowing how you missed the chance

To know me truly
Had you only seen
The one that shines is always there, has always been
You were too late to catch the beam

The Rainbow comes and goes
In all its stains, is still the Rainbow after the rain!
