When challenges arise—whether in our personal life, our career, or through humanity facing a global situation—our mindset matters more than ever.
In fact, what we do in those moments of adversity defines our future.
It is in these moments, when situations are the toughest, that we must decide if we will focus on the problem or the solution, the pain or the opportunity, fear or love.
Will we focus on all the ways things might not work out? Or on all the reasons why it can and will?
We must decide whether we will let our obstacles weigh us down, or we will do whatever it takes to feel inspired so that we have the best chance of not only surviving but also thriving.
Here are three ways to stay inspired in challenging times:
1. Connect with our purpose.
Every human being has an important purpose to fulfil on Earth: a higher reason for their existence and a deeper meaning to their life. We each have gifts to share and a difference that only we can make in the world. This is our purpose—what we were born to do.
Being connected to this purpose is a vital key to success, from business growth and financial wealth to personal meaning, spiritual fulfilment, and physical vitality.
When we discover and begin to live in alignment to our purpose, every aspect of our lives becomes enriched. It brings out the best of who you are—your true human potential.
When we live in alignment to our purpose:
>> we feel inspired every day.
>> we become ambitious and reach for bigger goals.
>> we find the drive to succeed against all odds.
>> we become creative and find innovative solutions.
>> we rise to the top of our field.
>> we also become far more resilient in the face of adversity.
Instead of asking “Why is this happening to me?”, we start to ask a different type of question:
“How can I turn this around and get what I want?” or “How can I use this situation to my advantage?”
A deep connection to our purpose will give us the determination to turn difficult circumstances around and find opportunities where there appears to be only problems. It will give us the courage to rise up and overcome seemingly impossible situations.
High achievers and leaders in every field live and work with purpose. They have a mission in mind and a vision of what they want to achieve, and this drives their success.
We need to remind ourselves of our own purpose, of why we started in our business, of why we do what we do, of what we wish to achieve, and let nothing stop us from seeing that through to fruition.
2. Care for our energy.
Our personal energy is our greatest asset, and it must be cared for with love and effort every day. The more we invest in our energy, the more we will thrive.
Remember, our energy leads our life.
And so, if we feel exhausted, tired, worn-out, depressed, or empty inside, it will be difficult—or near impossible—to achieve what we desire. It is why self-care is essential.
To take care of our energy in today’s world:
Control the “input.”
We can reduce the drama in our life by reducing social media consumption, turning off stressful media sources, and minimising draining conversations. We can focus on what truly matters: our health, our wealth, our goals, and our loved ones.
Structure our time to achieve our goals.
At the start of each month and week, we choose the number one goal we want to achieve. Then we structure and schedule our time to work toward it. We can tune out distractions and stay focused.
We can use practices like massage, warm baths, meditation, journaling, breathwork, clean eating, exercise, and quality conversation to continually fill our own cup.
As difficult as it may be at times, we don’t have to let the current situation weigh our spirit down. We have to make a commitment to care for ourselves daily so that we can make the most of each precious moment of our lives.
3. Embrace our leadership.
Sometimes, when I face adversity, I remind myself that I have important work to do here on Earth. Focusing on my leadership and on the difference I can make inspires me to overcome personal struggles by remembering that my message and my presence matter greatly in the world.
This is true for each and every one of us.
And it is especially true today.
People need role models to learn from, people to light the path, and people to lead the way. They need people who can show them what is possible when we live with courage.
So why not us? Why not be the inspiration that humanity wants and needs?
We can ask ourselves:
>> Who do I want to be in the world?
>> What difference do I want to make?
>> How can I lead and inspire others today?
Encouraging, guiding, and leading people will help us and all those who matter to us—from our team to our community—to band together and succeed.
Remember, the fastest way to inspire someone is to be inspired, and even the smallest act of leadership can make a difference in the life of another human being.
We can embrace our leadership role, and be who we know we can be.
Facing challenge is a part of life, and it is in times like these that staying inspired is more important than ever. How we take care of ourselves and those around us today creates the life we live tomorrow.
So, we do what we can to stay inspired so that we can create the future we desire.
You are worth it, and you can do it.
