Routines to Start Your Day Off Right

We’ve all heard the phrase “waking up on the wrong side of the bed.” Most of us hope to avoid those days, as they can be frustrating (to everyone!). The simple truth is that the way we start our morning does have an impact on how the rest of the day goes.

Naturally, this means we should strive to have the best start to our day possible to ensure a fantastic day. Here are a few ideas to start your day, leading to a positive and productive day.

Two Minutes to Exercise

Starting the morning with a quick exercise routine may not sound ideal to some people, but it does help! Even just two minutes to stretch or warm up can significantly impact your energy levels, confidence, and willingness to try new things.

Don’t Dive for Your Phone

Admittedly, many people enjoy browsing their phones while relaxing in bed. However, this is less than an ideal way to start the day. This behavior alters your mindset to a more reactive stance, which isn’t great for your mental health or productivity.

Get Dressed

Getting dressed may seem like an obvious choice for starting the day, but it is still an important discussion point in a world where working from home is more common than ever. Dressing for the day is one of many ways we can help set our mindset for the day. Dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable, in control, and, if necessary, professional.

Have a Cup of Water with some Lemon

Drinking water with some lemon (either half or a whole lemon) is not exactly new. However, starting the day by drinking some lemon water will help give you the boost necessary to get your day going. Lemon water helps your liver and kidneys, provides Vitamin C, and can help your skin look younger.

Sweet Dreams

Finally, one of the best ways to ensure that you have a fantastic day is by ensuring you sleep well the night before. Get to be early, if possible. If not possible, at least strive to avoid staying up late. The average person needs between seven and nine hours, so leave enough time for it. Other tricks to help you get an excellent sleep include:

  • Investing in a good mattress.
  • Buying a sleeping mask.
  • Investing in a white noise machine.
