I’ve never been Christian, but when I was a child growing up in Boulder my mom, a Buddhist, encouraged me to check out various churches and religions and feel it out for myself. I attended a few churches until such time as I decided it was boring (other than the cookies). But during that time I was impressed by the sweet, kind, caring Christianity I encountered (one of the churches is now where Etown calls home). ⁠ ⁠

Christianity has been in many ways, too many ways, co-opted by hate, as has the GOP. Neither should be about hate. ⁠ ⁠

That’s diametrically opposite to what Jesus was, is, about. He’s about Love. Compassion. ⁠ ⁠
