Dramatic Revelations: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aries, Aśvinī Nakshatra | Vedic Astrology

OCTOBER 2023 FULL MOON | LUNAR ECLIPSE | ARIES | Vedic Astrology

Not everything is in your control, so let go and allow the chips to fall where they may. October’s Chandra Grahan — the lunar eclipse is here!

Emotions may have been big, chaotic, tense or numb since the opening of the eclipse portal on October 14th, the day of the Solar Eclipse. Maybe you’ve experienced all of these unstable moods and phases, only to feel the shadow of self-doubt and uncertainty, heaviness, and stuckness. But hold on just a little longer for a dramatic revelation and endings to past struggles.

October’s Full Moon arrives at 9.24pm BST in Meṣa rashi (Aries) in Aśvinī, the first nakshatra of the Kālapuruṣa (Zodiac), signalling a new beginning.

Why is this a ‘dramatic’ time? Because Rahu, the deliverer of deception and illusion, the shadow node of the moon, will be in Aries, ruling this moment and joining the partial lunar eclipse at 7:01 pm BST that lasts 4 hours and 25 minutes.

Don’t Believe Everything You Think.

A full moon lunar eclipse delivers the clarifying light of knowledge, and since Rahu is the master of what is hidden, his lower body, Ketu, who is in Venus-ruled Libra at the time, will sever the illusions and false information that have clouded our consciousness, specifically relating to relationships. Move through this unsettling period with courage and willpower. Mars, the lord of Aries, will provide the effort; however, control the senses, as Mercury in direct opposition can make speech quick, harsh, and aggressive.

In Vedic thought, the horses, Aśvinī’s symbol, are often used as metaphors for the senses, and the chariot led by Surya Dev, the Sun God, represents the body; the reins denote the mind. Immerse yourself in yoga sādhanā. Lead yourself away from conditioned reactions and root into the highest knowledge of your Self.

Exercise self-control by maintaining self-awareness and therefore slowing down your responses. The Aśvinī Kumaras are the ruling deities of this nakshatra, who are twin Ayurvedic healers — the physicians of the Devas. Ruled by headless Ketu, they too have lost their heads, only to be replaced by the heads of horses. Aśvinī’s nakshatra offers shidhra vyapani shakti, the ability to reach places, people, and things swiftly and powerfully, like a horse, and deliver remedies and solutions through natural means.

Since this lunar eclipse is occurring in Aries, a very external sign, tending to the physical body is important. Horses also represent prana — energy and vitality. It’s time to restore balance and heal the physical body.

Avoid confrontational situations and slow down. Notice what truth is being revealed when you tend to the physical layer. Liberate your mind and think with your whole body!

Rahu and Ketu Transit, A Turning Point.

Embrace the immense karmic transformation and growth Rahu and Ketu, the shadow planets are delivering within the Aries-Libra axis, as they are about to change signs: Rahu will move to Pisces, and Ketu to Virgo on October 31st for the next 1.5 years. Finally, a new cycle is starting, relieving the pressure and criticism within personal and work relationships and the obsession with securing one’s boundaries and independence.

FULL MOON INTENTIONS

Watch for aggressive communication. Express emotional turmoil creatively. Allow for solitude. Journal, meditate, and chant to create inner clarity, balance and stability.
