Trump is a felon.

But we all knew that. But no, it’s the judge who’s “corrupt.” Covering up sex with a porn star in order to try to win an election. Threatening people.

And the joke is, 90% of his supporters don’t care. They don’t care about his guilt, they don’t care about democracy, they don’t care even about Republican values. They are about the only thing Trump cares about: himself. Anger. Ego. Revenge.

None of that matters, really. He’s still filthy rich, much of it ill-gotten. He can still run for President.

The self-secret verdict is that only one thing will truly stop him: vote.

That’s true, but not the whole truth…these things help, too: kindness. Peace. Talking, and listening, with those you disagree.

The unspoken verdict is that, in the face of tyranny, some of our checks and balances, our democratic institutions, held firm. Not against Trump, but for law. Justice.
