It’s about Community.
When you get kids at a yound age loving their bicycles they’re lifelong cyclists. And that’s what you find in Boulder—lifelong committed cyclists.
95% of our streets have bike lanes or a bike path nearby? I. Don’t. Think. So.
That said, this inspiring video goes well beyond PRfestness (even if a few showy stretches of bike path show up 20 times each) to show some of the practical steps and financial benefits any town/city can take and get if they decide to think about transportation from a healthy, fun, affordable and touristy point of view.
It’s not easy. But it’s not impossible. It’s one step at a time, and this video shows how a community can shape their town into something fun for adults and children alike.
Having been born and raised a Boulder cyclist, I’m personally grateful for all the hard work of my elders.
