In the midst of my moontime, I find myself enveloped in thoughts of my female ancestors as well as my present day sisters. I wonder about the moontime rituals and traditions that women, both past and present, have created to nourish their bodies and souls.
In the midst of my moontime, I find myself slowing down. Wanting to slow down, needing so slow down. It feels as though my body is forcing me into a period of quiet solitude, so much so that my mind and body have a difficult time accomplishing the smallest of tasks, like washing the dishes or preparing lunch.
In the midst of my moontime, I find myself in a dreamy, flowy space and open to the secrets of the Universe. My eyes are softened and I flow in and out of slumber.
I recognize my needs and choose to honor them. Women around the world are choosing the same.
Women around the world are reclaiming their bodies, feminine power and rituals around the cycles of womanhood. Women around the world are choosing to honor themselves by listening to their Inner Voice. Many women are indeed nourishing themselves by slowing down and connecting with women, both past and present during their moontime as well as creating a culture of giving to one another each and every day.
The Red Tent Movement, an international movement, has arrived in Boulder! An inviting retreat space has been created within Boulder’s womb and members of the “tent” are co-creating a nourishing space that welcomes all women who bleed or have bled. As a collective, the women of the tent serve one another, our community and our earth. The women of the “tent” listen with presence, share their truths and embrace their ability to heal one another and our earth.
From the Boulder Red Tent:
It is a space for quiet, reflection, sharing, receiving and giving healing touch or listening, napping, drinking tea, reading, being in the garden, drawing, however you find yourself in the dreamtime—it is a space for honoring that. It will be a shared space so we will become good at asking for what we need and honoring the needs of other women. It is also a space that one can come to for short periods of time, like taking an hour in the middle of the day to have quiet and reprieve. Or where a woman can spend the night and really drop more deeply into her moontime. It is a spontaneous and organic process in which women come whenever they are moved. We also hold Council every couple weeks, a book discussion group, women’s coaching/support group, ceremonies, films, etc.
Come and witness the beauty of the collective! Allow the Sacred Feminine to be acknowledged and nurtured in your own life! Together, we can support our bodies, minds and souls! Open houses are scheduled quarterly. Visit the Boulder Red Tent Facebook Page.
